Teacher’s Day: UT education department asks school heads to acknowledge teachers digitally – Times of India

CHANDIGARH: Like any other event the Teacher’s day celebration will also be done digitally this year. A letter in this regard has been issued by the UT education department on Friday. The district education officer has state din the letter that the Education Department Chandigarh Administration has received a letter from Department of School Education and Literacy, Ministry of Education regarding the same.

The DEO Harbir Singh Anand directed the principals of all the government, government aided and private schools to celebrate Teacher’s Day digitally on September 5. Social gathering is not allowed as per the direction by the MHA however the day is to be celebrated by recognising the contribution of the teaching community working in the schools.

“It may be held through virtual format,” the letter read. Ministry of Education has also advised to popularize two hash tags #OurTeachersOurHeroes under which children can post their own selfie with a paper sharing their teacher’s name or with a message to their teachers and #Teachersfrornindia under which teachers from the schools are acknowledged.

The schools have been asked to send a report along with entries in this regard to their cluster heads by September 1, 11am along with photographs. The best entry in each category will be sent by the Cluster heads on email by September 2, 2pm.
